How can we help you?

Find answers to commonly asked questions about renting campervans, booking, insurance, and more.

Booking & Rentals

How old do I need to be to rent a campervan?

You must be at least 18 years old with a valid driver's license to rent our vehicles. Some vehicle categories may require drivers to be 21 or older. International licenses are accepted if they are in English or accompanied by an International Driving Permit (IDP).

What documents do I need to pick up my campervan?

You'll need: 1) A valid driver's license (held for at least 1 year), 2) A credit card in the driver's name for the security deposit, 3) Your booking confirmation/voucher, and 4) Proof of identity (passport or national ID). International drivers must present their IDP if their license is not in English.

Can I modify or cancel my booking?

Yes, you can modify or cancel your booking through our Manage Booking page. Modifications are free if made more than 48 hours before pickup. Cancellation fees vary: Free cancellation 30+ days before pickup, 50% fee 15-29 days before, and 100% fee less than 14 days before pickup.

What is your Price Beat Guarantee?

If you find a cheaper price for the same vehicle and dates from another rental company, we'll beat it! Simply contact us with proof of the lower price within 24 hours of booking, and we'll refund the difference plus an additional 10% discount.

Can someone else drive the campervan?

Yes, additional drivers can be added to your booking. They must meet the same age and license requirements as the main driver. Additional driver fees apply - typically $5-10 per day per driver. All drivers must be present at pickup to sign the rental agreement.

Vehicle & Features

Are the campervans automatic or manual?

We have both automatic and manual transmission vehicles available. You can filter by transmission type when searching for vehicles. Automatic vehicles are slightly more expensive but are popular for those unfamiliar with manual transmissions.

Is unlimited mileage included?

Yes! All our rentals come with unlimited kilometers, so you can explore as much as you want without worrying about extra mileage charges. This applies to all vehicle types across all our locations in Australia, New Zealand, and Canada.

What fuel type do the vehicles use?

Most of our campervans run on unleaded petrol or diesel. The specific fuel type will be clearly indicated in your vehicle details at booking and during pickup. You must return the vehicle with the same fuel level as when you picked it up, or refueling charges will apply.

What amenities are included in the campervan?

Standard inclusions: Bedding for all passengers, cooking equipment (stove, pots, pans, utensils), cutlery and crockery, cool box/fridge, table and chairs, cleaning supplies, and a first aid kit. Specific features vary by vehicle type - check your vehicle details for the complete list.

Can I take the campervan on unsealed roads?

Standard campervans are not permitted on unsealed/gravel roads. If you plan to travel on dirt roads, you must rent a 4WD vehicle and purchase additional insurance. Damage caused by driving on prohibited roads is not covered by standard insurance.

Are pets allowed in the vehicles?

Unfortunately, pets are not permitted in our vehicles due to hygiene and allergy considerations for future renters. Service animals may be allowed with prior approval - please contact us before booking.

Insurance & Protection

What insurance is included in my rental?

Basic Third Party Liability insurance is included in all rentals, covering damage to third parties. However, you are liable for damage to the rental vehicle up to the excess amount. We strongly recommend purchasing additional Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) or Comprehensive insurance to reduce your excess.

What is the excess/deductible amount?

Standard excess ranges from $3,000 to $7,500 AUD depending on vehicle type and driver age. You can reduce this to $500-$1,500 with CDW insurance, or to $0 with Premium Cover. The excess is the maximum amount you'll pay if the vehicle is damaged, regardless of the actual repair cost.

What does the insurance NOT cover?

Standard insurance excludes: Overhead damage (hitting branches, carports, etc.), underbody damage, damage from driving on unsealed roads (without 4WD), windscreen and tyre damage, interior damage, loss of keys, wrong fuel, and toll/parking fines. Single-vehicle accidents (no third party involved) may have higher excess.

Do I need a security deposit?

Yes, a security deposit (bond) is required at pickup. The amount equals your excess ($3,000-$7,500) and is pre-authorized on your credit card. The hold is released within 7-14 days after vehicle return if there's no damage. Debit cards are not accepted for the deposit.

What happens if I have an accident?

In case of an accident: 1) Ensure everyone is safe, call emergency services if needed, 2) Call our 24/7 roadside assistance immediately, 3) Take photos and get third-party details if applicable, 4) Fill out an incident report form, 5) Do NOT admit fault. Your excess will be charged, and insurance will cover the rest.

Pickup & Drop-off

Can I pick up and drop off at different locations?

Yes! One-way rentals are available between most of our depot locations. A relocation fee applies, which varies by route and season. Popular routes may have discounted or free relocations. Check our Relocations page for special deals where we pay you to deliver vehicles!

What are your depot opening hours?

Standard depot hours are 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM daily. Some locations have extended hours during peak season. After-hours pickup and drop-off can be arranged for an additional fee ($50-100), subject to depot availability. Please contact us at least 48 hours in advance to arrange.

Can I pick up at the airport?

We offer complimentary shuttle service from major airports (Sydney, Melbourne, Auckland, Vancouver, etc.) to our nearest depot. Shuttles run every 1-2 hours during business hours. Please call us when you land to arrange pickup. Direct airport pickup is not available due to airport restrictions.

What is the pickup process?

Pickup takes approximately 30-45 minutes: 1) Document verification and contract signing, 2) Payment of any outstanding amounts and security deposit, 3) Vehicle demonstration and features walk-through, 4) Exterior condition check and photos, 5) Questions and final checks. Please arrive on time as late arrivals may forfeit your booking.

What if I want to extend my rental?

Extensions are usually possible subject to vehicle availability. Contact us at least 48 hours before your scheduled return. Extension pricing is typically at daily rates, but may be higher during peak seasons. If you return late without approval, late fees of $100+ per day plus daily rental rates apply.

Travel & Regulations

Can I take the campervan on ferries?

Yes, you can take vehicles on ferries (e.g., between North and South Islands in New Zealand). Ferry costs are your responsibility and must be booked separately. Ensure you have comprehensive insurance as ferry travel may have specific requirements. Inform us in advance if planning inter-island travel.

Are there any restricted areas?

Certain areas may be restricted depending on road conditions and insurance coverage. Generally prohibited: Some national parks without permits, indigenous land without authorization, closed roads, and areas with extreme weather warnings. Check your rental agreement for specific restrictions in your region.

Can I cross country borders?

Cross-border travel is generally NOT permitted. Vehicles rented in Australia cannot be taken to New Zealand or other countries, and vice versa. Special permissions may be granted in specific circumstances - contact us at least 30 days before your rental.

What about parking and camping?

You can camp at designated campgrounds, holiday parks, and some DOC/national park sites. Freedom camping is allowed ONLY in certified self-contained vehicles displaying a blue sticker, and only in approved locations. Fines for illegal camping are $200-$1,000 and are your responsibility.

Do you provide roadside assistance?

Yes! 24/7 roadside assistance is included with all rentals across our network. If you experience mechanical issues, call our emergency hotline immediately. We'll arrange repairs or vehicle replacement. Do NOT arrange repairs yourself without authorization, as unauthorized work will not be reimbursed.
