New safety checklist for Wicked Campers
Australia’s favourite backpacker campervan is now even better with a new safety checklist aimed at getting your holiday off to a trouble-free start.
Safety is the number one priority at Wicked Campers, which has its own team of dedicated mechanics that check each rental vehicle before it goes out on the road.
Now the company has introduced a new safety and cleanliness checklist that will be supplied to each customer when they take delivery of their Wicked camper.
The checklist includes all major mechanical components such as tyres, brakes, seatbelts, windscreen, headlights, oil, water and fuel, as well as a road test and full under-body check.
It also includes a complete inspection of the van’s interior to ensure the vehicle is thoroughly clean and ready for its next adventure.
Once the checklist is completed, it is signed by both the Wicked Campers mechanic and the customer.
Wicked Campers founder and director John Webb said the company had been providing “Wicked holidays’’ for both international and local tourists for almost 10 years.
“We are Australia’s favourite backpacker campervan rental group because our vehicles look great and are simply more fun than all the rest,’’ Mr Webb said.
“However, we also understand that customer safety comes first so we have just added this new checklist to our existing safety procedures.
“When you hire a Wicked Camper, the only thing to worry about is where to go next.’’
Besides its mechanical inspections and new safety checklist, Wicked Campers other safety procedures include:
- Educating customers about safe driving and Australia’s unique road conditions
- A list of safety tips and a safety video on the Wicked website
- A total ban on night driving in the outback and other night highway travel
- Designated areas that are prohibited because of remoteness and road conditions
- Strict licence checks and limits on passenger numbers
- 24-hour roadside assistance for added peace of mind
